Dear Vendor;
On behalf of the Georgia Jail Association President Nealie McCormick, and members of the GJA, we welcome and encourage
you to attend our 23rd Annual Training Conference.
The Georgia Jail Association will hold its Annual Training Conference June 28 through July 02, 2010, at the Columbus
Georgia Convention and Trade Center.
The
Columbus Iron Works was located on the banks of the Chattahoochee
River in the Columbus Historic District. Organized in 1853, it was built
near the steamboat landing in the heart of the growing community. Today the buildings are a local landmark in the downtown
area and houses the Columbus, Georgia Convention
and Trade Center.
The Georgia Jail Association (GJA) invites you to participate in our vendor show to be held in
conjunction with the GJA Training Conference. With over 15,000 square feet of
exhibit room, we are expecting this year’s show to be our largest one yet. Our
exhibit hall will even allow for a vehicle to be brought inside, in case you would like to utilize one as part of your exhibit.
You may contact the Convention Center directly at http://www.columbusga.org/Tradecenter/
The Vendor Show is scheduled for Tuesday, June 29, from 8:00AM to 11:30 AM in the North Exhibit
Hall. Our conference will be attended by Sheriffs, Jail Administrators,
and personnel from many different areas from within the jail environment, such as line officers, supervisors and assistant
administrators. There will be numerous agencies represented from around the state of Georgia.
Vendors are a major part of our conference and bring new ideas and products to enable us to perform
our jobs at a higher standard. Without the support of the vendors this organization
probably would not exist. The events that you sponsor are appreciated and we will continue to support our sponsors by including
them in the business process of our operations. Many of you are known to us and
we regard you as part of the GJA family. Those of you that are newcomers are
welcome to join us in Columbus and enjoy the festivities and
fellowship at the conference.
Basic Information for Vendors
Vendors are
requested to have at least one “Door Prize” to be awarded during the show.
All winners must be present to win. GJA will not mail prizes. Each conference attendee’s name will be included in the drawing.
We will draw a name from our “pool of names” and will award your prize during the vendor show. This keeps us from having to draw from a pool of business cards where someone may have inadvertently placed
two cards. We will announce your company as having donated the prize.
Included in
the cost of the vendors’ fee is a catered brunch that will be made available to all registered conference attendees
and vendors.
Vendors will
be allowed to set up on Monday evening at 8:30 pm and Tuesday morning beginning at 6:30 am for the vendor show. The exhibit hall will be locked after vendor set up on Monday night.
Vendor sponsorship
of conference activities and related expenses can be shared. Please contact Capt.
Steve Coker to secure sponsorship for an event (770) 716-4718.
